One of our beloved
long time members, Mary Ann Spurlock,
has recently made her transition, and we
will have a Celebration of Life service
at the Center at 12:30PM on Sunday, May
5th.
Her son, Medwin, is
going to show pictures of her when she
was on Broadway.
If you want, bring
a dish to share, and join us for lunch.

behind our diseases and illness, from the
experience she has from working hundreds of
clients. The movie is incredibly done. Every
person watching it will relate to our main
character, who struggles with thinking
negative thoughts. Throughout the film, the
viewer is introduced to the power of our
thoughts, and the process of why what we say
and think has such an effect on our daily
lives.

A Study of
Still life's using Watercolor |
 |
|
Sharon
achieves her life like
watercolor still life painting by using the
"Christensen" technique of layering to
achieve stronger colors and deeper
shadows.
This gives
her the ability to paint the subtleties
of light traveling through glass or
reflections on different surfaces to
appear so realistic.
Composition,
a balance of shape and height, is one
more factor that sets off her use of
watercolor to make flowers appear so
vibrant.
The
watercolor shown here won First Place at
the Coos Art Museum in the CAM Biennial
2012 show.
